HDWars gets hands on with the new Sim2 3D projector

Today has been one of those days when we really, really love our job. For we’ve been over to Castle Sound & Vision in Nottingham to spend some quality time with Sim2′s new Lumis 3D-S projector. And it’s fair to say that a ridiculously good time was had by all.

After settling down in the extraordinarily comfortable chairs in Castle’s sensational demonstration room, we were thoroughly prepared to be wowed by the 3D-S given what we know of Sim2 projectors generally and what we’d heard about the 3D-S specifically. But even our sky-high expectations didn’t prepare us for the truly dazzling display we were treated to.

Castle Sound And Vision's damn fine demo room

We won’t go into full details here as we intend to bring you a full review of the projector over the next few days, but suffice it to say that for the first time ever outside of a commercial cinema we were treated to king-sized 3D images of truly cinematic brightness and intensity that suffered no crosstalk noise whatsoever. Yes, that’s right, NO CROSSTALK WHATSOEVER.

As we said, we’ll be bringing you a full review very soon. But for now, all we can say is that if you reckon you’ve got a prayer of getting near the 3D-S’s near-£30k asking price and live anywhere near Nottingham, get yourself over to Castle Sound & Vision as soon as you can and prepare to have your mind blown…
